The Origins of Pet Paw:
The history and the origins of dogs dates back to 15,000 – 30,000 years. As most of us believe, dogs did originate from the wolf breed. However, not the gray wolves instead its the Eurasian Wolf family tree.
As far as the history takes us, humans have been domesticating the dogs for around 10,000 years. Exactly! “Sledge Dogs” A breed which then evolved into huskies and malamutes, as we know today. Even though researchers and scientists have tried to find out how the breed came to be, the evolution or the gene alteration is still a big mystery.
The earliest records point out to certain archeological dig at Siberia dating the origins to about 9,500 years. The scientists have tried to match the sledge dogs genome to the archeological remains to find out the ancestorial genes of the sledge dogs. There also has been gene mutation considering multiple factors. For instance, sledge dogs at the Arctic not only had to adapt to the weather change (low oxygen environment) hence trying to catch their breath. Or even regulating their body temperature to adjust to the environment.
While there is a gap of thousands of years to fill or find out how the gene changed wolves to dogs, scientist’s reasoning has been that it was a gradual. Humans would have encouraged the wolves or the wolves might have learned to trust the humans at some point. At the end of it we have learnt to co-exist irrespective of the history and the mystery.
